      Account Manager Interview

      17 Feb 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Midaxo (Boston, MA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

Truly one of the least professional conversations I've had as part of an interview process over the last 2-3 months in which I've had a chance to participate in over interviews at over 20 different companies. The hiring manager and recruiter were incredibly helpful and thorough in my dealings with them; however, where the process broke down was when I partook in 1:1s with executives that sat on different teams. If I had to provide some feedback, I would advise them to ensure their team members have done their due diligence prior to interviewing prospective candidates.

      Account Manager Interview

      8 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Midaxo

      Interview

Their recruiter reached out for an initial phone interview. He was pleasant and setup a mock sales call with a team member, and if I passed I would be moved to come in and meet the team. I also needed to work on a 'case study' for the on-site which took maybe an hour/90 minutes of time to complete. Once I got on-site, the first person I met with was another AM who you could tell was threatened by my presence in the office as he was older and only cared about the 'deals' I had won and wasn't asking anything about my other qualities. I knew if I had gotten this position he wouldn't want to work side by side as a team, but it would be more of a competition and not a camaraderie. I also met with a manager of the CSM team who had great feedback and was newer. Once the hiring manager walked in, she asked me my name which was surprising and also rude. Then she looked at my resume and asked me to tell her what I've accomplished since nothing really stood out on the resume. I was beyong insulting and I'm surprised she's in the position to manager anyone. She also asked me if I 'spent a lot of time' on the case study as she wouldn't have time to look at it. I asked her what an ideal candidate for her team would look like. She said she doesn't know because she doesn't have it on her team now. I left knowing she was looking for any excuse not to hire me as opposed to a reason to hire me, and I think I dodged a bullet as this is a toxic environment. I didn't get the offer but am thankful for that, I'm pretty sure I dodged a bullet here.
