I applied through university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Microchip Technology (Bengaluru) in Aug 2023
Interview
I applied through my college(tier 1).
They had 1 Online assessment followed by 2 technical rounds and 1 hr round. Each technical round lasted a little more than 1hr and the hr round was about 30 min.
The interviewers in all the rounds were professional, relaxed and friendly.
1st round:
1. Introduce yourself
2. Based on kadane algorithm
3. Based on binary lifting
4. Largest palindromic substring
5. Given a range and a digit, Find how many times the digit occurs in the range(not the brute force solution).
6. Basic oops and C++
2nd round:
First she asked me to Introduce myself, after that I was grilled on my whole resume( 3 projects, 1 internships).
Lastly she asked some questions on dynamic memory allocation(padding, struct vs union, etc).

Other Software Engineer interview reviews for Microchip Technology
I interviewed at Microchip Technology (Santa Clara, CA)
Interview
Four interviews, some in person some online. Each interview is with a member of the team you will be working on. All interviews were very technical and test the limits of your knowledge.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interviewer asked me to implement a graph in C++.
The process included an initial recruiter screening followed by a longer virtual technical interview with the hiring team. The interview covered my background, project experience, C++/algorithms/data structures, scripting experience, and some FPGA/EDA-related concepts such as timing analysis and debugging. Overall, the process was professional and focused on both software fundamentals and domain knowledge.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One question they asked was how I would approach parsing a large Verilog netlist and identifying module instantiations efficiently.
I applied online. I interviewed at Microchip Technology (Chennai)
