I recently completed the interview process for a Fixed Wing National Relief Pilot position with Metro Aviation, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.
From the moment I walked into the headquarters, I felt the 'family-like' environment they are famous for. I was personally welcomed with a handshake by Todd Stanberry, the VP and son of the founder, which set a very hospitable tone for the day. The entire in-person interview was professional, welcoming, and clearly reflected the company’s very strong safety culture.
The Process:
1. Written Test: A straightforward 20-question technical evaluation.
2.Management Interview: A professional discussion with the leadership team that felt like a conversation rather than an interrogation.
3.Facility Tour: A great look at their impressive operations and professional setup.
4.Simulator Evaluation: For fixed-wing pilots, this involves a one-hour evaluation at FlightSafety International (FSI) in Dallas.
The team at Metro is incredibly professional and clearly the best at what they do. Receiving a personal text from Todd after the sim evaluation was the 'cherry on top' of an amazing experience. I am honored to join a company that treats its pilots with such respect and look forward to my start date on April 13th.
