Development and Marketing Coordinator I submitted my resume and was quickly called in for an interview. I arrived 10 minutes early and was seated in a conference room and told that I would be interviewed by the CEO and the Chief Development Officer. I came prepared with the six pages of background check releases, a printed resume, and a hand-filled in work history as asked. I was told they were in a meeting and would be joining me shortly. The Human Resource Generalist with whom I made the appointment, welcomed me and sat with me to go over the history of the agency and explain the benefits package they offer. About 10 minutes into the interview he checked to see when the CEO and CDO would be coming. I didn’t realize they were out of the building. I ended up spending an hour talking with the HR Generalist and never saw the executives whom I had come to interview with. I was expecting to reschedule but did not hear back until 10 days later with an email saying the position was filled. A month later I see the job being advertised again. I question the hiring practices of the organization I was not left with a good impression.
