I was hired in 2014. I walked in and handed my resume to the store manager, who said he didn’t have any open positions. I told him about my furniture experience at a mom & pop across the street, which impressed him. He said to call on Monday. I told him that I was the only full time employee at the mom & pop and single handedly paid his overhead for the last 2 months. I was hired on the spot and started the next day.
I went back 2 years later and interviewed with the District Manager. He spoke of the “growth” the company experienced. Having left as a store manager, I told him I desired a career path back to management. He called the next day and hired me.
