Pleasant at first. As an internal candidate with over 13 years of Mastercard experience and 3 years of experience at the Director level. I had previously worked with the hiring manager and we got along very well. She was excited about my experience and quickly went around HR to move me to the next level. I then met with her direct report, who shared that I was the "top candidate" for the position. Next, I met with 2 members of the team. That is when the sabotage began. One of the interviewers asked me questions where apparently my responses were not to her liking. After that, the hiring manager became non communicative and after weeks of following up I was told that I did not get the position with no feedback whatsoever. I later found out that the hiring manager hired a close friend with less experience . The peer who interviewed me actually spoke negatively about me to the hiring manager, but tried to cover her tracks by indirectly informing me the hiring manager hired her friend despite me being the top candidate and that there were very underhanded procedures followed. All in all, I contacted HR and met with the hiring manager to express my concerns. My conclusion is that lies were being told by multiple parties and I am glad that I avoided working in that internal organization.,
