Had a phone interview with HR rep from NJ that was professional and effective. Onsite panel interviews were the complete opposite. Interview started late. While waiting saw candidate that had appointment before me. Over heard hiring manager talking about candidate and how she performed. Also clearly stated that she was from the Mars Petcare Headquarters and was an existing Mars employee. Panel with CFO was hostile, unwelcoming and rude. CFO's attitude and tone was clearly unwelcoming and he was focused on questions to disqualify me from the interview. Interview question below was from CFO which is normally a sign that the interviewer didn't review your resume prior to the interview. I have previously worked for their industry competitor who uses the interview STAR format and have been very successful in tough panel interviews with CEOs/CFOs. Second panel with hiring manager was more professional and the questioning focused on trying to learn more about who I was as a candidate. Overall it was one of the rudest interviews I ever encountered from an organization with a senior level executive. It was obvious that I was just a fill in interview. This job posting was not publicly on LinkedIn but I had found out about it through the Mars career site email.
Heard great things about Mars and also know of people who work for Mars Chocolate so greatly disappointed. I withdrew my application shortly after and deleted my candidate profile.
