The interview process was extensive, involving a phone screen, a video interview, and a lengthy in-person loop with four team members that included an office tour. The conversations were professional and ran well over the allotted time. During the onsite, we specifically discussed the fact that I was likely overqualified for the position; I addressed this directly, explaining my genuine interest in the role and why my background made me a perfect fit. Despite these deep-dive discussions and being given verbal "next steps" by the team, I received a generic, automated rejection email one week later stating I was "not qualified." Seeing the role remain posted after such a high-touch process suggests a significant disconnect between the interviewers' feedback and the final HR decision. It was a high-effort experience that ended in a low-touch, inconsistent manner.
