The recruiter said they were very interested in my mobile experience, although this only came once when they asked me what I thought about the Xamarin platform. I think they are really looking for a Unicorn that will be overworked and underpaid.
2 interviews :
1 hour video chat where they asked some basic culture fit questions and some basic tech questions.
2 hour onsite in Salem. I had to white board rebuilding survey monkey. I've been on a few interviews recently and this one has got to be the most crazy asks I have encountered. Granted, I don't think I bombed it but you could spend ages talking about how you'd go about it. Not sure what they were looking for there.
The second half was a live coding test with asp.net core where they setup a little MVC app and they instructed you on what to change/update about it.
This is a mid-level position that was advertised. I think this team should really figure out what they are looking for before bringing someone on and asking them questions spanning the gamut of of system engineering. I may have had experience in many areas, but if they're expecting someone to be equally proficient in many areas all the time, then I think that's a bit ridiculous. An interesting side note is that they have never hired someone directly before - mostly hired past interns - so I'm sure they are very cautious about who they bring on board and/or don't know what they want.
Aside from all that, they seemed like nice folks trying to do good things. I hope they find what they are looking for but it will probably be tough.
