I had only one recruiter screening call, and unexpectedly the recruiter asked quite a few very generic technical questions. While I was answering, I was told, “oh, I do not understand,” which made the conversation feel pointless and unprepared.
The process was also described as a 6-step interview loop, It includes two behavioral interviews and even an AI assessment interview where they apparently evaluate how you use AI, which feels unnecessary and overengineered.
Afterward I've received an email saying they had shown my resume to the hiring manager and decided not to proceed. That raised the obvious question: why wasn’t the resume reviewed by the hiring manager before starting the process especially for such big IC position?
The experience felt inefficient, inconsistent, and not respectful of the candidate’s time.
