I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MBDA (London, England) in Jan 2021
Interview
I applied in Jan 2021. After doing some online tests I was invited to an assessment day. The interview process was pretty easy. A series of group discussion and problem solving, then a 1-on-1 with someone who works in the department. There were also some individual online tasks to complete which is where everything went downhill.
For something that is quite a technical role, it seemed nobody could use tech. One of the interviewers was very rude to another colleague of theirs (interrupting, rushing etc) which makes me question if the role was even worth it with this type of culture. There were significant issues with the interview set up and login/recording systems meaning none of our interview had been recorded. We were told we would have to do it another day, bearing in mind we had just spent hours doing it already. Tried to rest tempt the recorded interview immediately but was told that also didn’t work and they would get back to us.
They didn’t get back to us, it ultimately seems that they were too lazy to fix the issues. I asked for further updates and feedback but was ignored. Train wreck of an interview and very unprofessional from a company I had once had high hopes for.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Group work about charity work event planning.
Questions about prioritising tasks
One to one was just an informal chat about your interests and what you know so far as well as a (non technical) problem to solve.
There were personality questions and also technical questions on programming and basic physics. The personaility questions covered motivation and why I wanted to work for the company and my interest in the specific role.

Question 1
How to calculate the velocity of something thrown in the air
It followed a Normal interview steps, cv hand in, personality test, recorded interview, online assessment centre. you could apply to three roles, which was good because I initially got rejected from one role for them to get in touch for me to jump to a final interview for a different role.
The online video interview process was difficult as you only had one attempt at recording your response and only had 2 minutes to think about your response. The questions that were asked required more than 2 minutes of thinking time.
