I applied, had the initial phone interview with a recruiter later that week and was told I would hear back within a week after my information was passed along to the hiring manager for consideration. I followed up after two weeks to check in; no updates. TWO MONTHS later I was contacted out of the blue by their Team, saying the hiring manager wanted to speak with me. I came prepared to the interview, asking the hard questions like how they as a tech company are growing when so many in this industry are laying folks off and, as such, what is the job security for this Team? Was given the run around about how they value employees and do their best to retain - unbeknownst to the hiring manager, a friend of mine went through a terrible layoff (along with many others) back in 2016 at the hands of Marco that I was hoping they would address. They did not seize the opportunity to give an honest answer. After being told I had impressed the HM, I was told that they had a few more interviews later that week and I would hear back within a week and a half. 3 weeks later and I was sent an automated rejection email. I knew better from my friend's experience but wanted to give them a shot. Oh, and this particular hiring manager attempted to add said friend on Facebook after she was laid off. They had never met before and were both very married... take that as you will.
