      Lead SDET Interview

      22 Dec 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Bangalore Rural
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lyric (Bangalore Rural) in Dec 2025

      Interview

I had one of the worst interview experiences of my career while interviewing for the Lead SDET role. The interview was scheduled for 1.5 hours, but it dragged on for almost 2 hours with zero respect for the candidate’s time. Two interviewers were present—one focused on automation and coding, and the other on feature testing and manual testing scenarios. I answered all questions thoroughly, solved the coding problem, and handled the testing scenarios confidently. The interview itself went very well, and there was no indication that performance was an issue. Despite this, I was rejected without any meaningful feedback. The most frustrating part is the HR’s complete lack of professionalism. When I asked for detailed feedback, I got nothing useful—no explanation of where I went wrong, no learning points, nothing. Just a generic rejection. If you don’t intend to seriously evaluate a candidate or provide transparency, why schedule a 2-hour interview in the first place? This reflects a broken hiring process: No respect for time No structured or fair evaluation No accountability from interviewers No transparency from HR It honestly feels like the decision was already made, and the interview was just a formality, resulting in a complete waste of the candidate’s time and effort. For senior roles like Lead SDET, candidates invest significant preparation, energy, and emotional bandwidth. Treating them this way is unacceptable. If this is how the company handles interviews, I seriously question how employees are treated internally. Advice to candidates: Unless you’re desperate, think twice before interviewing here. Be prepared for long, exhausting interviews with no feedback and no respect for your time.Very disappointing and highly unprofessional experience.

Thank you for sharing this. This is not the experience we aim to provide. You should have received timely follow-up and a clear outcome after your interviews. We regret that this was not your experience. We appreciate the time you invested across multiple rounds. That level of commitment warrants direct communication and closure. I lead Talent Acquisition at Lyric and would value the opportunity to learn more. You can reach me at recruiting@lyric.ai.
