Applied online, got a phone call from a recruiter to schedule a phone screen. The phone screen asked basic questions like "When would you be able to start?" "What's your absolute minimum salary requirements?" "Why Lyondell?" etc... Lasted about 15 minutes.
Two days later I received an email to schedule an interview.
On the day of the interview I entered the building, watched a safety video. Then there was an hour long interview with the hiring manager that was really laid back. He mostly went over resume stuff, answered questions and you could tell he was really just trying to get a feel for who you are.
Then there was a panel interview with six people in the department. They were all really laid back and laughed and joked and did their best to make it seem like it was just a conversation. Come prepared with questions. Toward the end of the hour long panel interview, my throat was dry, I was out of questions, and didn't know what I may have left out.
Then came a lab tour. It was scheduled for 30 minutes, but it lasted for over an hour. At each station one of the people at the panel interview would describe the area and ask if you have any questions. I couldn't really think of anything to say so I just kept replying "no".
It's been two weeks, and still haven't heard anything back so I'm assuming I won't be receiving an offer as the hiring manager needed people to start right away.
Overall, it was a relaxing interview and I left feeling really excited about the company.
