I interviewed at Lynch Mykins Structural Engineers
Interview
I interviewed with Lynch Mykins back in November 2022. It was one of the best interview experiences I've ever had. Often during interviews with other companies, I've felt compelled to put my (unrealistically) absolute best foot forward. However, with Lynch Mykins, each interview was an insightful conversation in which I could be my authentic self. Their emphasis on maintaining a good culture was very apparent during the interview process. I truly believe that they care about their people.
Unfortunately, I did not accept their offer for personal reasons, but I would love to work for them if the stars align in future.
I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Lynch Mykins Structural Engineers (Norfolk, VA) in Apr 2022
Interview
Two part interview. First was over the phone and covered basic questions. 2nd interview in person. The 2nd interview is pretty in depth. They’re mainly interested in getting people that will fit their team not solely based on education. The emphasize that they work hard and things move quick. There is a given test during the 2nd interview which covers some basic FE type questions on structures, and foundations. I think the 2nd interview lasted about 2 hours. I wish I had reviewed the FE material prior but I’ll know better for the next occasion. They also push their engineers to aim for their SE instead of just getting their PE.
Overall it seems like a sweet place to work…maybe. next time.

The interview process at Lynch Mykins was one of a kind. The interview process consists of 2 stages.
