I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Luxury Daily (New York, NY) in Aug 2016
Interview
The interview process was pretty standard for a writing position. I met with the young lady whom I would be working under, completed a short writing assignment, reviewed it with her, and then met with the Managing Editor. I was most impressed with him and how he expressed genuine concern for his employees and their success. He said they always promote from within and that they keep resumes from interviews on file. The idea being they only bring in people they are very interested in and if they don't pick you for one role, they will keep you in mind for others. Yes, this is fairly standard, but he added that several people within the office were hired in this manner. He also explained the company's mentorship program and his hands-off managing style.
I was initially very impressed, and was looking forward to a response the next week (when I was advised I would hear back--either which way). I sent in thank you cards the next day to both interviewers. I never heard back. I waited a week, emailed, and waited a few more weeks to email again. Nothing. I even called and left a message. No response.
