I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Lucid Motors (Newark, CA) in Sept 2021
Interview
- phone screen with recruiter who surprised me by asking Technical Questions
- 2 phone screens and a panel interview, with a 15 min candidate presentation
- toughest interview I've faced and was a positive learning experience for sure. Team lacks standards
The panel was extremely smug, cocky (mocking answers, texting on the phone while interviewing, etc). My interview started 5 minutes late which cut my candidate presentation short by 5 mins, and I only had 10 mins to present and I was cut off - they were the ones that started late!!!!! I was 5 mins early. Have some etiquette for Pete's sake.
Too many technical rounds. And when i say too many, I mean too many. And I don't think their intention was to gauge your thinking methodology, but to put you on the spot - the more questions you answer correctly, the more they'll dig in.
You guys are an EV COMPANY!!! why do you care about your candidate's knowledge in SI engines? Please ask questions more relevant to the role.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lucid Motors (Newark, CA) in Sept 2024
Interview
6 round total- didn't make it past the 3rd round technical interview. Usually asking fundamental engineering questions related to Lucid vehicles or their powertrain. My advice is to research some of their technical videos posted, since it will largely be based off of that. They will also ask technical questions related to your experiences and build conceptual questions based on your technical experience
