I found their advertisement in their newspaper, called the telemarketing dept. manager to schedule a time to see her and saw her the next day. I dressed with proper business attire, went to the newspaper and met the dept. manager , she explained the job to me and asked me if I had any telephone sales experience. I said I had many years of experience, showed her my resume, she reviewed my resume and asked me questions about my telephone sales experience. Then she gave me a script to practice reading for 10-15 minutes in a section outside her office. She then asked me to come back inside her office and read the script which I did. She said I sounded good. She then told me about the hourly pay- which was minimum wage with possibly $2-5.00 bonus per week only if I surpassed my sales quota and if they had a contest on that day. The department manager then said she would call me and let me know the outcome of the interview. She said she had other people to interview as well for the position. The next day she called me and asked if I would like to accept the job, and I said yes. I started the job the next day.
