I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lockton Companies (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2016
Interview
At first I was impressed. I applied on line, the next day HR reached out to see if I could do a phone interview with a Unit Manager. The phone interview went well so a week or so later a 4 hour interview was set up. I was to meet 5 people including the Director of Talent. I also was going to be evaluated in a role play where I was to see how I handled an irritated client. I was also going to be evaluated on my Excel skills and see how well I could extract information from a benefits booklet. I saw my scores and I was near perfect on both tests, and the interviewer told me I did really well in the role playing exercise.
After meeting with the first two interviewers, I was told the third person was sick, so I sat in room to wait for interviewers 4 and 5. I heard the 4th person's name read over the overhead paging system twice. Then 15 minutes later, I heard the 5th person's name being paged twice. After waiting 30 minutes, the original interviewer told me the others had a scheduling conflicts and that I could go home. I only met with 2 of the 5 people I was suppose to meet with.
I reached out to the Lockton recruiter the next day to find out what happened. I also reached out to the others and either thanked them, or asked if we could try to meet again. No response, no apology, no explanation. I am disappointed in how they handle things. Unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
For the Excel exercise, be prepared to be able to take information from tabs one and two of an Excel spread sheet, total them on tab 3, then figure out what their monthly average is. There are about 22 questions similar to that. They start easy, then get more difficult.
The interview process was standard and easy. I had 3 rounds of interviews, a phone screening, interview with an LC, and interview with a team member. The process from phone interview to first interview took the longest.
The people I interviewed with at the time were too serious and had no personality. There were four of them in the conference room, which I thought was too excessive for the role I interviewed for.
