      Full Stack Engineer Interview

      9 Dec 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at LocalStack

      Interview

I applied for a position in september and went through a standard interview process that included two initial calls and a technical interview with team members. While the interviews themselves were fine, the overall process was quite lengthy, and I had to follow up multiple times to get updates about where I stood. After the final interview, I was contacted to provide feedback on how the interview went, which I did promptly. However, I did not hear back after that. The lack of communication left me feeling disappointed, especially given the time I invested in preparing and attending the interviews. I understand that hiring processes can be complex, but clearer and more consistent communication would go a long way in improving the candidate experience. It’s important to respect candidates' time and effort by providing updates, even if the decision is not to move forward.

      Interview

I applied for a position in september and went through a fairly standard interview process (though very long), including two initial calls and a technical interview with team members. While the interview process itself was straightforward and professional, my experience after the final interview was disappointing. Following the last interview, I was contacted to provide feedback on how the interview went. I responded promptly, but after that, I received no further communication from the company. It’s been more than 3 weeks, and I’ve heard nothing about whether I passed to the next stage or if the process ended. This lack of follow-up felt unprofessional and dismissive of the time and effort I invested in preparing and participating in the interviews. Basic communication is a sign of respect for candidates. I would encourage the company to improve its candidate experience by ensuring timely and clear communication, even if the decision is not to move forward with a candidate.
