I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lightspeed (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2022
Interview
3 Stages in total.
1. Call from Technical recruiter was professional and straight to the point. Information on my background and the job description was discussed here as well as some behavioural questions. Technical question was sent the same day to be completed in 48hrs
2. Next stage with Manager: Some more information on my background as well as fit with the company activities, policies and understanding of the structure. Some behavioural questions and questions on other aspects of the day to day activities were asked here, technical and non-technical. Overall, interesting and enlightening interview process and very passionate members of staff. They sold the company to me.
3. Final interview with Team lead. We ran through the solution to the previous technical questions here. More technical questions were asked as well as more information on the company, culture, job descriptions, day to day activities as well as my background.
Technical recruiter as well as all the interviewers were so courteous and patient. And the Tech recruiter followed up with a call and/or email after each interview. One of the best sessions I have had in my years of interviewing.

Other Senior Data Analyst interview reviews for Lightspeed
Interviewed for a Senior Data Analyst role at Lightspeed Commerce and had a really positive experience overall.
The process consisted of two rounds, though my technical and hiring manager discussions were combined into one conversation due to scheduling/team availability. The interviews were much more experience and problem-solving focused rather than overly theoretical or “gotcha” style questions, which I appreciated.
A large portion of the discussion involved diving deeply into past projects, stakeholder management, decision-making, ambiguity, and communication style. The interviewers asked thoughtful follow-up questions and seemed genuinely interested in understanding how I approach problems and collaborate cross-functionally.
One thing I especially appreciated was how transparent the team was about team dynamics, expectations, and what they’re looking for in a candidate. It gave me a strong understanding of the role and how the analytics function is evolving.
Overall, the conversations felt engaging, respectful, and collaborative rather than overly stressful or adversarial.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lightspeed (Montreal, QC) in May 2021
Interview
The interview process was smooth, well organized, and left no space for ambiguity. Without question an outlier for a process that can often be anything but. The recruitment team was polite, responsive, and involved throughout. They know what they're doing, and do it very well.
