Library Systems & Services Library Associate interview questions

The process went on for a while. It took about three weeks to hear if I was going to be interviewing after applying. At the time they didn't disclose the pay rate prior to the interview or even during it. They only disclosed it when making an offer. I ended up declining it because the pay rate was too low for the responsibilities they described. This was especially jarring as an internal candidate. Looking at some listings now it does appear that they are disclosing the rate of pay at some locations for new positions.

If you do not have a major related to library work and happen to be starving or just really need more abuse, do not go. The interviewers were obnoxious and rude. The company representative gave me incorrect information about the location, and then the interviewers said I should have known better no matter what she said. I had verified the information with her, so there was no misunderstanding. The information was just wrong. Twice. During the interview, they turned out to be smug and certainly had no reason to be. They communicated poorly, were disorganized and visibly stressed, and made me sorry I was there I cannot imagine what actually working for them would be like, but I will put it all out of my mind so I will not have to.
