I had applied to a different, but similar role on product enablement, HM reached out for an intro chat for that application but during the chat he said the role I applied for is not needed anymore and that he considered me for a different role, on CS. HM said a proper 1-2-1 interview with him will be planned next. That never happened. But recruitment planned a (new) screening/intro call. They asked why I considered myself a fit for the CS role and how I successfully managed CS before - I had not applied for the CS role, but was led to believe by the HM I was a good fit for it and hence considered. The recruitment questions made no sense in this context. Later, I was rejected with a generic email, no clear explanations. The role I initially applied for was still available and open. All in all, a very confusing and unprofessional hiring process, creating very false expectations. Steer away!
