After 5 rounds of interviews (1 kick off call with a rep, 1 work project, an onsite interview with a panel of 6, then a phone screen with 3, then another onsite interview with 2 more people, followed by an an additional phone screen) the company disclosed that they did not have the budget for a full-time hire, and would fulfill the needs of the position using freelance talent. No further contact was made. The VP of Sales Marketing, to whom this position reports, was very difficult to communicate with throughout the process.
