I went through two rounds of interviews with Laurence School and was supposed to meet with the Head of School. They kept rescheduling that meeting due to “things coming up,” even though I was well-qualified and had received positive feedback from the team. Then, wildfires happened, understandably causing further delays. Each time I checked in, I was told the hiring process would resume soon—but eventually they just stopped responding altogether.
It’s incredibly rude and disrespectful to leave a candidate hanging, especially after weeks of interviews and positive indications. If they decided on another candidate, they could have easily communicated that instead of going silent. My experience makes me question their professionalism, and I would not recommend working for an organization that fails to treat applicants with basic courtesy.
