I went through multiple interviews just to be ghosted at the end and then the job was reposted. It started with a phone screening, then a virtual interview, then an in person interview. There were zero indicators that the interviews were going poorly, including the last one where they asked for references which typically means you may be hired if all goes well with those. I was excited about the possibility of starting so I sent my references that same day. When I sent my references, I did also follow up asking a clarifying question regarding their physical office space as it didn't seem like it had air conditioning and this is Texas so I wanted to at least mentally prepare myself for how summer's may be. I asked in a professional manner, but apparently instead of answering me, they decided to just not respond to me at all. Even if the response was a no and they felt like I may not be a good fit anymore, I would have appreciated that more. However going through 3 interviews just to be ignored at the end is very off-putting. They all seemed like very kind people so I wish nothing but the best for them and the company, but for future interviews, please try to be more professional and courteous of people's time.
