      Data/Business Analyst Interview

      12 Jul 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Palo Alto, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Ladder (Palo Alto, CA) in Jun 2019

      Interview

Firstly, recruiter reached out on LinkedIn and scheduled the first phone interview with an analyst in the team. That technical phone interview was about 30 mins and covered some background introduction, data analysis case study, and some SQL tests. After that I waited like one week and HR didn't give me any follow-up until I reached out to her, and she gave me a take-home test which was basically play with an excel file and provide insights to the team. I spent 3 days on it and provided a presentation to them. After the submission, there was another 10 days silent period, no response, no nothing. I reached out twice about the progress, and it seems like HR totally ignored my messages. And after 10 days, they told me I was invited to an onsite interview. On that date of the onsite interview, it was also another unpleasant experience. First of all, I arrived like 10 mins before the scheduled time, but there was no one to receive me. I was sitting on the couch awkwardly waiting, and the first interviewer was even 10 mins late than the scheduled time. But after that it was the standard process: people from different teams would come and meet you, and they would ask you specific questions that they are facing and would ask your opinions about how to solve them. I believe I performed well during the interview, but again, HR totally disappeared after that. I reached out once about the process and there was no response at all after almost a month. The entire process was very inefficient and irrespecutful. It seems like only one person at the hiring team is dealing with all the stuff. They should notice that providing a pleasant and respectful experience for candidates is very crucial to attract talents!
