I want to preface this by saying I'm truly not trying to demean the company. I was just surprised by how different the reality was from what's presented online, and I wanted to share an honest account for anyone considering applying to the company. Multiple people I spoke with, including very senior individuals, openly acknowledged significant internal disorganization. I appreciated the honesty, but the candor went well beyond "we're going through a rough patch." It extended to open admissions about fragmented processes with employees regularly having to recreate work that would typically be standardized at other companies, which was really surprising to hear in an interview setting. Of course that isn't the fault of the employees, so I don't want to place blame on them. I was just a bit stunned by the level of candor. The interview was mixed. Not too conceptually difficult in its questions, yet less conversational than I'd hoped. The focus stayed on background-checking rather than mutual exploration. For example, when I began elaborating on an FP&A-relevant system I'd used, I was redirected before I could finish the thought, which made it difficult to demonstrate relevant experience. The overall tone didn't feel particularly two-sided. From what I gathered, much of the day-to-day life involves recreating routine processes from scratch rather than building on established foundations, or "always reinventing the wheel" as the interviewer put it. Growth opportunities seem limited given where the organization currently stands. For the first couple of interviews, the response rate was quick. After a final round discussion with senior leadership, I received no follow-up communication.
