Very long process, each phase of the interview happening weeks apart from each other. - Initial phone screening interview - Technical assignment to do at home - Technical interview - Final interview Everything went very well until the technical interview, and I will describe my own feeling, which can of course differ from others': - Lack of empathy or friendliness - Very vague questions asked but yet with a precise, specific answer expected - Being judged and not interviewed, for example when being pointed back at "unexpected" answers given - Very specific questions asked about the language - Asked to orally describe a piece of code to solve a problem without being able to write any code Sorry for being hard, but the overall feeling is that the technical interviewers don't know how to interview someone, specifically on the human level, and especially when thinking the candidate may be a future team member. This may denote a lack of sanity within the team and a bad culture -or maybe not and I'm totally wrong, but it is the feeling you get when being interviewed-. On the technical point of view, the interviewers expect someone with a very deep knowledge of the language, but definitely not someone who is language agnostic or new to the language. You may know the concepts inside and out, but it is not what they expect. Furthermore, the technical questions can be very vague and awkwardly asked, making it hard to understand what they expect from you. Positive points: - Interesting technical test - Friendly HR / talent acquisition people
