I applied on linkedIn and received an email to schedule a phone interview. The interview was scheduled and I was given no further details on who I was interviewing with or what to expect. If the job description contained more detail this would not have been issue. However the posting was vague and left a-lot up to interpretation .
In order to take the call I found a quite place to speak, after waiting 15 minutes for someone to call me I asked the person who scheduled the meeting if it was still the right time. Another five minutes passed and I assumed they had forgotten about me. To my surprise I got call from a manager who was supposed to be conducting the interview. At this point I was no longer in quite area although he was 20 minutes late, he became very irritated by my location. We discussed trying to reschedule but during the managers frustration, he mentioned the job required "laser focus" and that being in an area was not quite showed I was not focused. He then asked if I had "any experience in sales." At this point in time I had three years in sales which is very clearly stated on my resume.
I found the entire process frustrating and a large waste of time. The expectation for me to be "laser focused" by someone who was 20 minutes late to a call and did not take the time read my resume seemed very hypocritical. They reached to reschedule the interview however I declined.
