I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Klarna (Milan) in Jan 2022
Interview
HR contacted me by seeing my LinkedIn profile
1. Brief interview with the recruiter. He was a nice and helpful guy. (Passed)
2. Offline coding challenge (Passed)
3. Live coding session (Passed?)
There were 2 questions in almost 1.00 hr.
Face-to-face interview with Engineering manager and a Senior Dev, they asked me to explain in detail a project I recently did pretending I had to do an onboarding for a new colleague.
The second part was a live coding session where I had to find an algorithm to solve a specific problem. (takes around 30 minutes). The question was related to a chessboard game.
Honestly, I had just 30-35 mins to do that. I honestly cannot understand what the question is asking at the beginning as the interviewer only shows a block of text and ask me to read. asking him to scroll u and down at the end, I understood the question. Yet I struggled to come up with a suitable algorithm in the first 20 minutes until I set the pieces together. Then in the end I come up with a solution that works best. A binary tree algorithm was ideal and shared my thought process on how it can be solved. I know it works perfectly, but there was no time and they stopped me saying we don't have time and we should stop it here. ( I honestly have no idea how they expect to solve such a difficult problem in an instant. And I don't know what they are after).
4. Behavioural interview. (???)
Is basically a face-to-face interview with two Engineering managers.
They asked me about my background and leadership experience.
Which of our leadership principles best describes you?
Who do you admire (it could be a public figure)?
Which project are you proud of that you did in the past?
After some chats, I felt a little uncomfortable with all the repeated questions and the number of questions.
The entire process was smooth and well handled by the Recruiter. Appreciate the Recruiter's work

I applied online. I interviewed at Klarna (Stockholm, Stockholm) in Mar 2026
Interview
The process involves several stages. The first is an online logic test to evaluate your pattern recognition skills. Subsequently, HR will invite you to a remote online meeting so they can get to know you better. They do not hire for a specific team/role and will instead see if you match with any of their teams.

Question 1
1. What do you know about Klarna
2. You experience.
A few steps with HR. Then 3 different technical steps:
- Challenge to complete at home
- Live coding
- System Design
The system design interview was the longest, about 2 hours. The idea was discussing how to implement a new feature on a website.

Interview
