I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kane Realty (Raleigh, NC) in Oct 2023
Interview
The interview process was odd, to say the least. Firstly, I was told by the recruiter in my initial phone screening, that this would be a hybrid role. However, upon my first interview, they quickly shifted gears and told me that this was not a hybrid role and I would have to be in the office full-time. I felt that I was lied to, but I decided to go along with the process anyway because Kane is a reputable company in the Raleigh area. During my first round of interviews, I was passed along from person to person in multiple different rooms which was jarring. I still don't fully understand why they couldn't all sit in the same room with me at the same time. The first round went decently, and I emailed each person I spoke with to thank them for their time. No response. Weird, but I ended up getting through to the second round of interviews so I still pushed through. During my second round of interviews, I was passed around from person to person again, only this time I was interviewing with the COO as well as people who weren't even on the team I would potentially be working with. The COO didn't even know which position I was interviewing for. He also felt inclined to ask me lots of questions about processes at my current company, which vendors we use, and who was in charge of our office. Very fishy, and seemed like he was just there to get information out of me, not to properly interview me. The others that I interviewed with were nice enough, but it felt pointless as I would not be working with any of these people on a daily basis. I emailed everyone again to thank them for their time and again received zero response from anyone. About two weeks later, I ended up getting a generic, copy-and-paste rejection email. Definitely feels like I wasted my time interviewing with Kane, and I now look at the company and their practices in a negative light.
