Very disorganized process.
Was promised an easy process, ended up being 8 interviews with everyone from hiring manager to engineering stakeholders to chief people officer. I was super impressed with the intelligence and aptitude of the interviewers but the process was rough.
Once it was clear that I was their backup option, they started passing me around to whoever would see me to keep me warm. They forgot that I had already met with the chief people officer and tried to send me into a second interview with them. Only after I asked “how can I prepare for a second skip level interview” did they realize their mistake.
I received another offer so I reached out to see if they were close to reaching a decision - they responded via email saying “they picked someone else”. I thanked them for their time, asked for feedback, and heard nothing back.
2-3 weeks later I saw the job reposted - I reached out to see what had happened. They asked to schedule a call (remembering they owed me feedback) and then proceeded to stand me up at the time they suggested.
It’s hard to see a company with so much promise be limited by underbaked processes. I hope they work it out so they can grow to solve our nation’s traffic and green travel problems.
