      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Jane Street (Paris) in Oct 2016

      Interview

Sent my application on the night. Received an e-mail next morning to set up a phone call. The team is extremely proactive. The interviewer was nice. Not arrogan at all. Would repeat the question without problem. It was a pure raisonning/thinking/QI test.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

One bus leaves. At each stop, 3/4 of the people get off the bus, while 7 get in. It keeps going that way until the end. What is the minimum number of passenger at the beginning? Roll two dices, multiply their result. What is the probability to get a square number

      Interview

The interview was very disappointing. This was my 3rd round with the firm, the interviewer barely cared about my solutoin, was yawning, disinterested for some reason. So, yeah it was a pretty bad experience and no!! I was not doing stupid stuff in the interview it was just a bad day i believe. The question that they asked was about 10 cards on a deck and by the end they were able to make it a multiplayer game where you had to think of a winning strategy with x red and 10-x blue cards.

First question was on dice rolling, you get one dollar if your roll is higher than your opponent then you win nothing otherwise.

      Application

I interviewed at Jane Street (New York, NY)

      Interview

Final round consisted of five rounds in person. Standard market making game on sum of 4 cards with side bet for arbitrage (40 card deck), then one coding (simple, not leetcode esque), then one data analysis, and two more math/trading esque games

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

For side bets, you can do on next card being red/black or higher/lower than 5.5 for 1:1 payout. (you need to figure out how to use this for arb)
