I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at JPMorganChase (New York, NY) in Aug 2025
Interview
The entire process from application submission to offer being provided took 3 months. There was an HR screener call followed by 4 rounds of Zoom interviews, including 2 with EDs and 1 with an MD. The most technical questions I was asked were ones relating to projects I worked on in a previous role otherwise everything else was behavioral. All the interviews went over their allotted time and were fluid conversations with friendly employees. Their RTO policy is vague other than being "5 days a week" so hours corresponding to your work-life balance vary widely depending on your team. As much as I tried to pull information out of HR regarding the specifics (ie. 8 hours in-office being required every day and being tracked) in order to figure out how much time I would losing in leaving a hybrid role for this, it felt like every answer was purposely not answering the question. I ended up declining the offer because in addition to the vagueness of the RTO policy, I felt several red flags about the role during the interview process. This included the rank of the role compared to the responsibilities (I was given varying statements about this depending on the interviewer), and the base pay offer which I was told by HR that I was not able to counter even though it didn't meet the expectations I had mentioned in the beginning of the process and was within the pay range advertised for the role.
