      Product Manager Interview

      22 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Long Beach, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Intex Recreation (Long Beach, CA) in Nov 2024

      Interview

I was invited for a virtual interview with a Product Manager and Risk Manager, which lasted about an hour. Although I did not feel I was at my best, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an invitation the next business day to the Long Beach facility for another interview. This session involved six individuals and lasted approximately an hour and a half. The interview process seemed thorough, and the interactions were professionally conducted. I was informed to expect feedback by the end of the following week. I sent a thank-you email the next day, reiterating my interest, but did not receive a reply. As the week closed, I followed up and received a response two business days later, informing me that another candidate had been selected. The lack of prompt communication was disappointing, given the time invested in the interview process, and felt somewhat unprofessional. Update: Two days after being notified that the role was awarded to another applicant, I noticed the job listing was reposted on LinkedIn. This was confusing, and I hope to get some clarification from HR to understand better their hiring process. For future improvement, I would suggest that timely and consistent updates during the decision-making process could greatly enhance the candidate experience and reflect more positively on the company’s professionalism.
