      Devops Interview

      25 Nov 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Intersection (New York, NY) in Sept 2016

      Interview

I was brought on-site twice after a phone screening with a recruiter, which both seemed to go well. Then I was told the position had been filled and that I was being considered for another role, so I was asked to return for another on-site with a different team. In between that time all of my references were called, which I took as a good sign. I was told the next interview was to be non-technical and more of a culture fit test, turned out to be 2 hours of the opposite with technical questions and white-boarding. After that interview I was contacted about a week later and told that the position had been filled. The part that turned me off was during the end of that call I was asked by the recruiter if I would be willing to consider possibilities for another position for way under my current salary. I took that as the recruiter thinking that I was currently over-paid and couldn't help but feel insulted. I'm glad it all worked out the way it did as I was able to find a position with a company that was willing to pay me market value for my field.
