I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at International SOS (Port Harcourt) in Jan 2023
Interview
The interview at International SOS was conducted by the Regional Managing Director and lasted approximately 30 minutes. It was a professional yet engaging discussion that covered key topics, including my experience in remote medical environments and the challenges faced in offshore settings. I was asked how I would manage specific medical situations and demonstrate my ability to work independently under pressure.
One key scenario involved the management of chest pain in a 56-year-old man on an offshore site. In such cases, my response would include immediately conducting a primary assessment of the patient’s vitals, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. I would provide oxygen therapy if necessary, administer aspirin (160-325 mg) to reduce clotting risk, and consider administering nitroglycerin (if not contraindicated) to relieve the chest pain. Further, I would obtain a 12-lead ECG to assess for signs of acute coronary syndrome and initiate protocols for possible medevac if the patient's condition requires specialized care beyond my capacity onsite.
