I went in and met with 3 scientists--one who would become my supervisor and two contract scientists. About a half an hour of discussing the position and asking very typical interview question, then another half hour that was both facility tour and scientific quiz. All told, maybe an hour long process. I didn't have to, but after I was hired, they instituted a presentation process for higher level scientists to give to the entire scientific staff--don't worry about this unless you have a PhD, as the presentation was usually on previous/PhD research done.
Either way, I was offered the position a few days later. I guess that's the benefit of a smaller company--not a lot of hoops to jump through in order to finish the process.
