The only interview is when you fill out the online application about your criminal and driving history. There isn't a phone interview and there isn't an in person interview. A background check is done, and for me I had to be on the wait list for at least 4 to 6 months before a spit opened up for me. So that was a huge downside.

Interview
The interview process, if you could call it that, was incredibly simple for me. I applied online to be an in store shopper in Austin and in a couple of days got a response from one of the city managers to watch their shopper training videos. As soon as that was completed and I perfected the accompanying quizzes, they sent me available times to schedule my on-boarding. The on-boarding is the in-person "interview," the shift captain walked us through the shopper role, toured the store and then had us complete a practice batch in the store, everyone pretty much stayed together and did the batch as a group, coincidentally. And if you get below a certain time for the batch, you're hired and can start picking up shifts that day.

Most of the questions were during the tour of the store, eg: if this type of cheese/gluten-free cookie/meat isn't in stock what's a suitable replacement?
The interview process was pretty easy. You'll be asked a few questions, and you'll be timed while looking for an item in the grocery store. Easy process all and all.

Interview
One nice thing is there’s no interview. You will have a background check, you’ll need to provide your drivers license information and picture. You’ll also be prompted periodically to submit a picture of yourself, which must match your DL picture. These requests come randomly and you must use their software to submit your picture. You will not be able to do another order until you submit your photo.
