I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Insight Data Science (New York, NY) in Oct 2014
Interview
It was very relaxed and positive. They asked me about my research and looked at some code that I wrote. I was open about my limited experience and my interviewer seemed fine with my willingness to learn even if I couldn't perform that well at the moment. I would recommend being honest, showing excitement, and showing what you know or have been teaching yourself.

Question 1
To prepare a project and share the screen so they can look at the code and what it does.
I applied online. I interviewed at Insight Data Science (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2020
Interview
I felt very pleasant throughout the whole application and communication process with Insight. The person who contacted me and scheduled an interview was approachable all the time -- she even replied to my email at 1 am.
A week before my interview, I attended Insight's interview preparation zoom conference. From there, I learned what they expected and knew how to prepare a showcase. Supre-helpful, at least for me! In my 30-minute interview (via zoom), the program director was very kind and professional. He first introduced himself and explained how the interview would be like. I think in overall, the most important part is how you can communicate with people about your data, and how your code looks like.
