Initially I had answered an ILS employment advertisement via my LinkedIn profile.
A week later I visited the Innovative Labeling Solutions facility.
The management was kind and actually communicated with me for the better part of 40 minutes. I offered the following: I am a local talent, and on a recommendation of a trusted business associate, I was interested in looking into ILS. I was informed that ILS is currently experiencing unusual growth. My immediate thought was that this is impressive and how can I get a foot in the door to help. At the end of my interview, I was told that my resume had been lost and could I please email another...
Over the next month I sent two additional email notes, both unanswered. I made two more unsuccessful face-to-face visits. On my third (final) attempted visit, the receptionist was out of office. Being an ambitious sort, I used the receptionist's phone and spoke with an anonymous employee. I was informed that all ILS positions were filled -- not hiring.
This is kind of information one needs to hear from a manager in a timely manner. ILS is likely a great business, but as a job applicant I am not impressed with their Human Resources Department (or lack thereof). Thank you for reading this.
