      Software Engineer Interview

      21 Feb 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Olive Branch, MS
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Hyve Solutions (Olive Branch, MS) in Feb 2025

      Interview

Interview Experience at Hyve Solutions I was initially contacted by a recruiter who inquired about my location, tech stack, and visa status (OPT). I specifically asked about sponsorship twice, and both times, I was assured that OPT was fine. The recruiter mentioned that the interview process would include a manager round followed by a 4-hour virtual loop. After clearing the manager round, I was informed of an unexpected change—an additional technical and system design round (1 hour 40 minutes) was introduced. I agreed and proceeded. The virtual loop involved four separate interviews (45 min–1 hour each), including live coding and one behavioral round. I assumed the process was complete, but then I was informed that a team lead also wanted to interview me, adding yet another round. Despite this prolonged process, I continued. Two days after my final interview, the recruiter informed me that I performed well and that they wanted to offer me the SDE-2 role. They discussed potential joining dates, locations, and company benefits, which I accepted. However, two days later, they suddenly required me to complete background verification (BGV) before issuing an offer letter. I raised concerns about this, requesting the offer letter first to ensure my commitment before sharing personal information. They refused, leaving me no option but to proceed with BGV. After receiving confirmation that my BGV was successful, I expected the offer. Instead, the recruiter called two days later and retracted my application, stating that they do not sponsor for this position—something they had already assured me of twice at the beginning. Final Thoughts Poor recruiter communication: The recruiter lacked clarity on visa policies and changed the interview process multiple times without proper planning. Unnecessary interviews: The process was excessively long and disorganized, with additional rounds added after initial commitments. Unprofessional handling of the offer: They discussed the offer in detail, only to later retract my application due to sponsorship issues. Low salaries compared to market standards. This experience was frustrating and unprofessional, showing a lack of coordination between the recruiting team and hiring managers. Not worth the time and effort.

I applied online. I interviewed at Hyve Solutions (Fremont, CA) in Mar 2019

      Interview

Applied for some other position, Recruiter recommended that I should apply for SW Engineer position. Expect more than usual delay, had to contact multiple time to schedule an interview. Interviewers were late/busy, first interview with Supervisor, then 3 SW engineers about 20-30 mins each. Last interview with the Director of SW Department.
