I applied online (job was listed as Confidential) and was contacted the next day to schedule a Zoom interview. The interview lasted about an hour and went smoothly.
The interviewer shared a timeline for when I could expect to hear back, noting that delays might occur since someone was on a sabbatical. Two weeks ago, I followed up and was informed they were still interviewing other candidates.
Today, the job was reposted under the name of the organization.
While I understand the hiring process takes time, it would be far more professional to communicate directly with candidates rather than leaving them in limbo. Applicants invest time and energy researching the organization, setting time out of their busy schedules to meet with you, and check their email religiously anticipating a response. It’s disappointing when there’s no clear communication.
We’re individuals, and we deserve the courtesy of closure.
