      Senior Android Developer Interview

      1 Nov 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Huma (London, England) in Nov 2018

      Interview

Unprofessional experience at all. Impolite and very arrogant software developer on the f2f process. They did not have an idea of what to ask or how to behave with a candidate. I was contacted from a recruiter because they were interested, apparently, in my profile. I had a first interview phone with a very nice guy, who I connected with quickly although I wasn't sure about their real intentions. I explained by phone that I don't trust that technical tests make any difference, they can be cracked/cheated easily. Almost always is about the mood and feeling of the interviewer and with a simple technical chat you can see the skills of a candidate and the way of thinking. They wanted a face 2 face session with me. After an introduction of myself and answering from real cases some questions about design patterns we jumped straight into an algorithm question. Although I explained I was not prepared or good at it, I gave different ways to approach the solution, but I was not even concentrated nor interested on such interview anymore. I started wondering aloud what was the reason of making such questions. Suddenly in a very rude, impolite and not professional manner at all, the developer got angry replying to me that I won't be telling him how to make an interview, while trying to get a backup glance from the head of technology also sat in the room. He started blaming me for applying to the process and, in a nutshell, he demonstrated and paid with me his angriness and frustration from previous interviews. After I stopped that situation and said it was not going anywhere, the developer asked for an apology in a very arrogant way. This developer seems to be the boss in this company. Despite the company was newly created as far as I understood, and almost everybody was there for just 1 or 2 months, he has on LinkedIn 6 years of experience in Medopad. (The only job he got in his profile BTW) Definitely Glassdoor is making such a great job by giving a real value to people interviews, and I should have visited and investigated the company before.
