As a project manager it is your responsibility to understand how individual competing priorities feed into the overall schedule. The items which have the largest long term impact or require the most up front planning should be handled first. Beyond that items should be completed as required to maintain cost and schedule. If there is too much to manage with one person you can delegate some of the activities or contact your supervisor/manager regarding the timeline or obtaining additional assistance.
