The process started positively: HR interview, a hiring task that took around 10 hours, and an interview with the Organic Director. The task was evaluated well and the conversations seemed positive.
Then an extra interview was added with the newly hired Head of SEO, who had joined the previous week. Shortly after, I received rejection feedback mentioning relatively minor points. At the same time, it seemed the new Head of SEO had decided to cancel recruitment processes, which is understandable from a business perspective — but frustrating after so much candidate time had already been invested.
What made it worse is that the company reached out to me on LinkedIn first. I’d encourage recruiters and hiring teams to align internally before asking candidates to complete time-consuming tasks and multiple interview rounds.
