This interview was very pleasant, but tough overall. This job would've been my first job within IT and I was very "green" at the time, to say the least. I started with a brief Zoom interview that went well enough that I was invited back for an in-person board interview and practical.
There was about 5 other people in this interview that asked me a wide range of questions that tested my personality, technical knowledge, and past work experience. Everyone was really friendly and I believe that I nailed this portion. The main interviewer even commented on how much he enjoyed my responses.
Once this was concluded we went into another room to perform a practical and this where it got hard. The simulation involved an employee that had several issues with their computer and I did not do well. I froze and dropped the ball.
When the interviewer called me to deliver the bad news, he also took the time to mentor me and offer some amazing and friendly advice. I have never experienced that before and it was awesome.
The company seems like a great place to work, with a great culture. I was really impressed and enjoyed this interview process. It was my own fault that I did not get the job, but it was a great learning experience. Shortly after, I landed another IT job with another company because of what the interviewer taught me.
If he ever reads this from the Pleasant Grove office, just know I appreciated it and that advice helped put me on a great trajectory.
