      Content Writer Interview

      2 Jan 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Homes.com in Nov 2024

      Interview

I just removed myself from consideration for the content writer role at homes.com. The interview process made me feel very uncomfortable. First, during my call with the hiring manager, after sharing my experience, she reminded me that anything I shared in the interview and on my resume would be checked to ensure I was telling the truth. It was such a strange thing to bring up in an interview that I was taken aback. Then, today, I was asked to clarify why it took me six years and not four to finish my undergraduate degree. Why does it matter? I don't mind explaining the reason, but what does it have to do with my ability to perform the responsibilities listed in the job description? I've got two decades of relevant experience and a master's degree for Pete's sake. Homes.com might consider finessing their interview procedure so candidates don't feel like they are on some kind of honesty hotseat.
