First stage was a telephone interview which consisted of a few competency based questions and initial info on the business, both Chelsea and James made me feel at ease instantly and this part of the process felt very informal and laidback. I got told instantly they wanted me to do the maths and English assessment and if I passed that part it would be onto the assessment centre which was the final part of the interviewing process.
I completed the assessments the same evening and received a call the next morning to confirm I had passed the tests and was invited to the assessment centre for the following week.
Upon arriving at the assessment centre at 8:45 me and 6 other candidates got chatting about the role and getting to know each other which I thought was nice instead of all arriving and been taken straight away. Chelsea and James arrived to collect us at 9am, we were given the option of stairs or lift which was a nice choice to have and catered for everyone. When we arrived we were offered drinks and refreshments and given advice on how to get through the day and told a little more about the business and role. We then went to listen to a current employee on the phones and got to ask any questions we liked, they encouraged us to ask the nitty gritty questions of what they didn’t like which was great as it seemed they had nothing to hide and this part was not assessed. After this I was taken to a one on one interview which was 30 minutes of competency based questions, giving examples from past jobs and that kind of thing. After this was a short break where you could chat to the other candidates to see how they’ve got on and have a drink etc, then I was taken for a mock call where you are given a brief, then you have to speak about the topic for 10 minutes and build rapport with the client (the assessor). After this was a group activity where you are assessed on how you work in a team which was a lot of fun. Overall the interview experience was very thorough but at no stage did I feel intimidated or daunted and that is largely to do with Chelsea and James who really made sure everyone was at ease and I can’t thank them enough for that part of the process as it made the whole day a lot more bearable and actually enjoyable. A few hours after leaving I received a call to find out the news I’d got the job and I’m really excited to start working for such a great company :) every person I dealt with was lovely and my experience was great.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Hiscox to anyone.
